Save Up All Luxon/Kurzick Faction Until Double Boost Weekend? - Guild Wars Forums

Is this what I should do if I want to max my Luxon title track? I'm doing all the quests and Fort Aspenwood to get my faction up and waiting for a weekend to turn it all in (buying Jadeite). Also, why does Kurzick faction go down when I spend Luxon? Is this bad?

It goes down because the two are opposing factions.. if you side with the Kurzicks, this means the other side is going to like you a little less.

Firstly - when you use your faction ( or either faction ) it will wipe any faction from the opposite side.
As for holding it all - you going to sit on anything from 20k to 50k faction for a few weeks just to get it doubled ? You my dear man are a fool ( no offence ).
Firstly i would look at mqvq - mount qinkai vanquish .
You dont need special builds or anything and after practice ( learning routes etc ) you can do it easily with h/h or human team ( non sc ) in 16 - 20 mins and gain 10k lux faction ( avg say 30k lux an hr ).
On a pve lux/kurz weekend its an easy 120k faction to title - 30k lux x2 ( donation ) and usually x2 bonus.JQ/FA is ok for its weekends but its slow at times getting teams etc.
One big tip - you said about losing faction for other side - only go for one sides title at a time , if your doing luxon then stick to it otherwise you end up wasting time gaining faction you will lose.
edit - just saw your going for jadeite , def go and do mqvq as that will easily get you plenty of jadeite faster - its an easy farm and probably the reason that its the luxon rep farm spot as well.

There's a cap on how much faction you can hold at one time - anything you earn beyond that cap is lost, so you need to be turning it in whenever you reach the cap... and when you turn in one faction, you lose an equal amount of the opposing faction... so you can't really farm them both at the same time.

Well yes you can save up your faction for a weekend when you get double when donating, the next one should be the 3rd weekend in May(this is going on the fact that for the last 2 years the weekends have followed the same pattern). Although before then there will be a double points in AB weekend.

Whenever you donate Luxon faction you will lose the same amount of Kurzick faction(if you have any) the exact reason for this i honestly am not sure but i suppose it's to stop people hoarding it(??). Lore wise it's down to the fact you are showing support for one side or the other in the war between them.

And it's not bad, but an idea would be to spend all of one faction before earning the other. If you earn both at the same time then it's down to you which you chose to spend, i'd personally spend the one you need the most(and not worry about losing the other).

If you're good at getting faction, dump it whenever you can. If you don't get much faction and need to work hard scrape it together, dump it only during the double dumping bonus weekend. But if you have a cap of say 50k faction, you'd need about 100 of those weekends to max the title.

Maxing the title requires 10 million faction. So if you save up around 50k, you'll get only 100k during a weekend. ALso, there's 2 kinds of weekends. THe first kind is where you get double faction for doing stuff. The second is where you get double faction for turning it in.

I hit my cap of around 50k, several times per day so dumping off the weekend is perfectly normal for me.

Doing just the quests and a little bit of fort aspenwood won't help you to get far. I've done many of the quests on multiple characters and that didn't push my far, imo.

Faction isn't hard to collect. I have a full bar of Luxon faction that I filled in under a day (and then some) while vanquishing.

However, now I have to go do some Kurzick stuff to get rid of it...

A thing to remeber about Faction is,

Lets say you are Kurzick and you are going to do quests for befriending Luxon for Gala Hatchery for Prot title is....Spend your Kurzick by Donating so you have nil in it then speak to priest in Luxon side and obtain Additional faction then YOU looose nothing at all as you dont have any in your Kurzick Bar.

Once done use the luxon to buy Jadite and get a return on what you have earned.

Do the opposite if you are Luxon based , that way you win two ways as you have nothing to deduct from your respective bar.

So no need to join another guild as a guest to dump it you might as well make something in the progress.

As I have mulitple accounts you can leave one guy and he will earn the vanquish reward also and, if say your Kurzick then by doing Luxon earn Jadite for an elite armour material and vice versa .

Why hang on to it when that particular weekend could be quite a ways off? I wouldn't hang onto it. When they announce the Double Kurzick/Luxon points weekend (The one for turning it in), which is usually on the Tuesday before the weekend, farm it up and save it then. Works like a charm!

If you're donating for faction titles don't get jadite or amber... Increase your alliance's faction and you will get double the points towards your title. On a double faction weekend this means... tons. 50k cap = 200k faction.

also i suggest Maishang hills now over Mount quaniki.. its slower then my pre nerf run(16mins) but the skill consume soul now destroys all minion armies essentially(good luck with the yeti cave without a gimmick build to save your @$$) so yea i suggest MHVQ.. little longer but you can bring minions and its essentially click a few skills run to next click.. its mindless
